Bangladesh Civil Service Appointments Announced for 611 Candidates Following 49th BCS Exam
The Government of Bangladesh has published a notification for the appointment of 611 candidates in the Bangladesh Civil Service (General Education) cadre through a notification from the Ministry of Public Administration. These appointments follow the recommendations made by the Bangladesh Public Service Commission based on the results of the 49th BCS (Special) Examination, 2025, held on November 27, 2025. The candidates will receive a salary ranging from BDT 44,000 to BDT 105,900 under the National Pay Scale, 2026.
The newly appointed candidates are required to undergo basic training at the Bangladesh Local Government Training Institute or any government-designated training institution. After completing this training, they will receive professional and specialized training as determined by the government. Candidates must serve as apprentices for two years, with the possibility of an extension by the government up to two years. Dismissal from service may occur if the candidate is deemed unsuitable during the apprenticeship period, without prior notice and without consultation with the Bangladesh Public Service Commission.
Successful completion of training and passing the departmental examinations will lead to permanent employment status for the candidates. Additionally, they must submit a bond on a non-judicial stamp worth BDT 300 at the time of joining, affirming that they will not accept or give dowries, and further stipulating repayment of any allowances received during training if they resign before three years after the apprenticeship. They will not receive any travel or daily allowances upon joining the job.
Candidates are urged to report to the designated office of the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education by October 12, 2026. Failure to join by the specified date will lead to the assumption that the candidate is refusing the position, resulting in the cancellation of the appointment.
For the General Education category of the Bangladesh Civil Service, a total of 61 positions for Lecturers (Bengali) have been designated, along with various other educational roles, as outlined in the official notification. Further instructions and the necessary application process will be guided by the Secondary and Higher Education Division following the announcement.
